I don't know if this one actually counts as a "recipe" but it's a fun, kid friendly snack that's worth passing along. Caramel apples have always been a favorite fall treat of mine. They can get kind of tricky to eat and so messy. As a mom, the mess factor carries a lot of weight! When we made caramel apples this year, I decided to tweak a classic to make it a little less messy. Then I decided to add a little somethin', somethin' to jazz it up too. Behold, gourmet caramel apple slices!
Ingredients:
Apples
Melted bag of carmels
Melted chocolate
Chocolate covered toffee bits
Directions:
Slice apples into eight slices then pat slices dry with a paper towel. Dip each slice in the caramel, covering 3/4 of the slice. Place apples on serving tray. Drizzle with melted chocolate. Sprinkle with toffee bits. You could add any other toppings you'd like. The sky is the limit!
