White Chocolate Peppermint Popcorn

Isn't popcorn just a nifty little food?  A fluffy little vehicle that can transport such a wide variety of yumminess into your mouth.  We make a lot of popcorn in our house.  After years of doing the microwave thing, I've been converted to the stove top method.  Once you pop on top, there's no going back.  That's not to say we don't usually have a box of microwave popcorn on hand for a quick snack.  When we DO popcorn for a family movie party or game night treat, it's all about the stove top though.  I like to experiment with different toppings and recently found a great Christmas combo.  It's very simple but oh, so good!  It would make a cute neighbor treat with a note that says, "We 'popped' over to say Merry Christmas". or something equally cheesy.  Or you can just eat it all yourself.  No judging here!

Ingredients:
1 cup popcorn kernels*
1 TBS oil
10 oz(1/2 pkg) vanilla almond bark
1 box peppermint candy canes, crushed

*This recipe is for stove top popped corn.  If you want to use microwave popcorn, use two regular sized bags of popcorn.
Directions:
Pour oil into pan, add popcorn kernels.  Cook until popped.  Melt almond bark according to package directions.  Pour over popcorn.  Stir in crushed candy canes until thoroughly mixed.

We love white chocolate popcorn so I have a feeling we're totally going to love this! And you always have been the best at making caramel popcorn, it brings back so many memories of our Georgia days!
