I love Chicken Cordon Bleu. I tried making it once, years ago. It took forever and didn't turn out that great. I'd like to think my culinary skills have improved a bit since then, so I'll have to give it another go sometime. When I came across these yummy little Chicken Cordon Bleu Crescent Rolls, I decided it would be a good place to start. They were super easy to throw together and taste wonderful! The honey mustard sauce makes a pretty drizzle on the top or a perfect dunking sauce for little hands. Win all around. Maybe I'll tackle the real deal again sometime. For now, this lovely dish will meet my Cordon needs.
Ingredients:
1 can Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
6 slices Swiss cheese
6 slices deli ham
2 chicken breasts, cooked, thinly sliced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Sauce:
2 TBS honey (optional)
2 TBS Dijon mustard (optional)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375°F. Remove crescent rolls from can and lay out in a long rectangle. Pinch the seams together well.
Roll up like a cinnamon roll and cut into 8-10 rolls. Place in a pie pan or 9-in square baking dish and bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown. Mix honey and Dijon mustard and serve with rolls if desired.

I love a good short cut recipe! I think I've only attempted chicken cordon bleu once too because it takes so long. I'll have to try this once we move back to the land of pillsbury crescent rolls!
I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one that found chicken cordon bleu a tough one to tackle. I'm exited for you to try this! I think you'll love it!
